I realize that I've been trying to send more things, real things, in the regular mail so far this year. Notes, letters, tokens of affection. Things that can leave my hand and arrive in the hand of a loved one, a dear friend. I'm behind on a few packages, but working away at it. Did you know that "checking the mail" is still one of the daily things people most look forward to, even though it fairly rarely delivers real treasures? How's that for the strength of hope?

I realize that I've been trying to send more things, real things, in the regular mail so far this year. Notes, letters, tokens of affection. You are so right! You just never know what wonderful thing might be in that mailbox, all previous experience to the contrary.
There's something special in the sound of the post dropping on the mat.

How wonderful! I've been trying to do the same thing recently too, and I do love finding packages in the letterbox.... (I have to make a big effort not to get too carried away on Etsy at times)!
