Certain words

When I was growing up, I hated the word "utility."  We had a large, pantry-like cabinet in our kitchen, after it got remodeled, and my mom called it the "utility cabinet" and that drove me crazy. My animosity had nothing to do with the meaning of the word, but somehow the sound of it was deeply repulsive to me. My mom had no patience for my dislike, and was not about to call it anything else. I don't know why she was so stubborn about it, but in any case I realized today that it's just a word to me now -- no power, no energy, nothing negative about it. So I guess that's progress.

A photo a day over at Chicken Blog, too.

Sometimes it feels good to let go, even if it is only the negative meaning of a word. ;-)
