Just trying to make it

So maybe you, too, succumbed to the lure of The Cute Book, and maybe you, too, have had it on your shelf but haven't quite had time to do anything with it. Well, I'm here to tell you that this little panda (page 12!) came together in no time at all, so you should open the book and try something out. I've made some little countdown treats for Dean's lunch box this week (counting down until Halloween, of course); I loved that last week on the way home from school one day, Dean reminisced about our tradition that we "always" countdown to holidays with lunch box surprises. Kids are like that -- they'll take something you've done that they liked and instantly turn it into tradition. It delights me. And it reminds me how worthwhile it is to pick up some felt and thread and make things. I wish I could show you the hamster I made (complete with a mask and "trick or treat" banner), but that guy is too big to be scanned -- and now Blogger doesn't want to let me post anymore photos so I'll have to try again tomorrow.

Oh dear, more inspiration and creativity. That book looks dangerous! I am thinking I need an endowment, so that I can freely play all day long... sewing, crafting, cooking, quilting and gardening, feeding chickens, and napping with cats and children. The funds from the endowment would go to some kind, cheerful, unobtrusive neat freak, that was eager to clean, pay the bills, sort the recycling, find locally grown organic produce, help with homework, and turn away solicitors from the front door.
... sorry to go on... lost in thought... lol

No, I haven't seen it but it looks great. And so does your awesome panda! Watch out though. Creature making can be addictive :)

I soooo love that book! I just got done making a bunch of little bunnies. I'm thinking of making them to put on gift tags for Christmas presents. Your panda is super cute!

It is you! ROTFL
We are sisters, you and I, and we share the *go limp and play dead* method of surviving wild rides!! I just saw your comment at Chapter III, and I thought: 'I know a Jennifer.... hmmm'
It really does work, doesn't it? I can never convince people of this counter intuitive idea. I have a huge temptation to go test our theory right now!

Hello!! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog :) I am LOVING your quote of "infinity more monkeys!" (Drat...another V8 moment of not having written down enough of those!)
Have a great holiday!

the panda is gorgeous! Yes I am one of those who has the book and just admires it and Isobel asks for everything in it! But I just think "yes I will do that soon" so I am so impressed with your panda wish we could see the hampster! I have really enjoyed catching up your last few posts especially the China-free one! I try to do my bit and sometimes get so overwhelmed with it all, I need to be able to change the world right away!!!!To add to it they are saying China will purchase millions of cars in the next couple of years! hope you are well and Dean and hubby too!
