Hope revolution

I had seen a project like this mentioned over at hula seventy though I'm not sure if her project of leaving affirming little notes around was spawned by Hope Revolution or not. Here's the story:
A woman in Manhattan started the Hope Revolution web site and project, advocating that we join her in generating small, positive little notes and leaving them in places where other people -- strangers -- will find them. Stumbling across this idea again yesterday, I was ready to act.
I made my first set of notes (see below) and yesterday started leaving them places. On the table after we finished eating our Chinese lunch, in the children's section of a local bookstore. The very top photo shows a note propped up against the Heart Stones book; after taking the picture I decided to tuck the note IN the book instead, hoping that the ultimate owner would find it (and preventing a store employee from just tossing it).
There's a flickr group if you'd like to see more.

THANK YOU for passing on the inspiration! I can see my daughters really getting into this. What a fun, inspiring, easy way to spread some joy.

I think I may have heard about this, though not sure where. I suppose us Brits may think this is a bit silly, but I might find myself placing a few cards in future. Just for the fun of it.

By the way - should you really feel the need to taste Marmite, may I advise that you get the smallest jar first, spread it VERY thinly on warm lightly buttered toast as the first taste can be quite intense if spread too thickly. As you get used to it you can increase the amount you spread! Should you find that it isn't for you, the marmite can be used as a casserole stock flavouring, great in chilli!

Best wishes

This is fun idea.

In Finland there was a similar thing but with the books, you could leave your book of choice somewhere to collect. Unfortunately can't remember the whole thing but something like that.
And yes, I'll play that weird thing, in near future ;)

i have this project in the back of my mind for work.... still trying to decide how well it will go over, and i am sure all will suspect that it was my doing, but still.... really am thinking i should do it.

You can call me Betty, or Bethany, or Beth ...Just don't call me late for dinner. said...

I have been thinking about this kind of thing for awhile .... I need to pull it off the back burner.. your notes are delightful.

Random notes of kindness, how sweet!
I will try to write some too.

I like to try to be kind to people who act rudely, and it is amazing how often they part with a smile. I have also been told many a times that no one had ever bothered before to say something nice. This then makes me happy too.

I love your cards -- they're fantastic! Thanks for spreading hope and encouraging others to do so.

I received an email recently from a professor in Houston who's making the project part of her class -- isn't that great?

Take care,
Krystyn
